American Institute of Baking
The American Institute of Baking or AIB International currently located in
Manhattan, Kansas is a not for profit corporation that has been serving the food
industry since 1919. The core of AIB's mission has not changed since its
inception, namely to "put science to work for the baker".
AIB's Kansas location places it at the home of Kansas State University, which
is one of the worlds leading research centers on wheat and grain products.
This proximity to world class research facilities as well as a staff that
includes experts in all phases of baking production, nutrition, food safety,
hygiene and maintenance has allowed the American Institute of Baking to become
one of the largest and most reputable companies for sharing expertise and
conducting inspections and audits in the world.
The AIB includes over 900 members throughout the world working in every
industry from small retail bakeries, to food processors to food service
companies. The members benefit from a great selection of courses and
seminars throughout the country related to baking safety, science, production
and operations.
Additionally for baking companies, the AIB offers the Bakers Quality Seal
Program as a way to help baking companies maintain excellence through
implementing a certification program to ensure quality. Also The American
Institute of Baking has a Gold Standard Certificate Program for food processing
companies that is instrumental in helping companies meet food quality and safety
standards.
